Installazione finita, accesso a Debian ma...problemi gnome3

Ciao a tutti!

Ieri sera ho terminato l'installazione di Debian Wheezy. Tutto filato perfettamente.

Faccio l'accesso a Debian. I menù sono al loro posto ma...in alto a destra della scrivania compare una notifica che più o meno recita così: problema con la visualizzazione completa di Gnome. E' possibile che i driver della scheda grafica non supportino completamente il DE.

Domande (ovviamente da niubbo)
1) E' possibile eventualmente installare un DE alternativo che non sia Kde? Leggevo buone opinioni su MATE...
2) E' possibile installare o dare maggior "supporto" alla scheda grafica sys?
3) E' per il motivo della mancata installazione di un driver valido che non riesco a cliccare col tasto destro del mouse sul desktop per creare dei file?

Credo proprio che abbia bisogno di un "tutor" con Debian...uhahahaha! Rolling On The Floor

È possibile, però dovresti almeno specificare che tipo di scheda video monti per poterti dire se è obsoleta o c'è un errore in qualche configurazione.

1) Sì di DE ce ne sono tanti, anche molto leggeri (LXDE, XFCE, .. ), ma non MATE, che però è disponibile in testing.
2) Maggior supporto rispetto a cosa? Che modello hai? Che driver stai usando?
3) No. Gnome3 non prevede di default la visualizzazione di icone sul desktop. Però lo si può abilitare.

Ciao,
ti consiglio di installare xfce.
Apri un terminale da root e lancia questo comando:
apt-get install xorg xfce4 lightdm network-manager-gnome pm-utils hdparm cpufrequtils thunar-volman xfce4-power-manager chromium-browser leafpad xfce4-power-manager xfce4-notifyd tango-icon-theme firestarter dmz-cursor-theme xcursor-themes

Purtroppo ora sono a lavoro e non riesco a dire esattamente il modello della scheda...ricordo sia una Sys (quindi integrata su mainboard).
Mandian riesci a dirmi che comandi devo dare a terminale per sapere modello scheda e driver attualmente in uso?
E...come si abilitano le icone a desktop? ;p

Puoi installare il programma lshw per poterlo successivamente utilizzare e fornire tutti i dettagli hardware del tuo computer.

I driver della scheda grafica credo non supportino le funzionalità di accellerazione richieste da gnome3 (vedi, ad esempio, http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=709005). Devi installare e usare un altro desktop environment (ad esempio, come già consigliato, xfce4 oppure lxde).
